Have you seen this error when you open the MySQL pane in System Preferences?
Warning: The /usr/local/mysql/data directory is not owned by the 'mysql' or '_mysql' user.
Have you severed your connection to phpMyAdmin on your local machine?
If so, run do not walk, RUN to Corey Ehmke’s site and check out his article on updating MySQL after migrating to Snow Leopard.
I'll be posting other goodies I find as I sort out how to re-instate my MAMP stack
